JD&A Artwork Instructions Quick Reference Guide For Sending Artwork

Acceptable Software Applications:

Corel Draw (files saved as .cdr)
Adobe Photoshop (file saved as .psd)
QuarkXPress (file saved as .qxd)
Adobe Illustrator (file saved as .ai)

File Format:

PC formatted 3.5" diskette
PC formatted Iomega 100mb Zip Disk
PC formatted Iomega 1gig or 2gig Jazz Disk
PC formatted CD-R or CD-RW

Art Reminders:

Convert all fonts to paths or curves. (Text converted to paths can no longer be edited as text.) For PC users, if font file (.ttf) is included text can then be edited.
Multiple color art pieces should be created using spot color mode rather than process color mode.
Include all EPS and/or TIFF files used in creating your document.
Include a hard copy of you artwork (such as a laser print) including written instructions. If possible, send proofs of color separations for multiple color jobs. Please do not send an original file, make a copy before sending.
If the software applications listed above are not available to you, you may supply camera-ready art (see "Camera-Ready Art" below).
If the application your artwork was created in is not listed above, please call and arrangements may be available.

Important Facts To Know

"Camera-Ready Art" refers to black and white reproduction grade copy of type, logo and/or imprint, ready for reproduction without additional touch-up. Art should be supplied as either PMT print of film positive at a size that is proportionate to actual size.

Enlarging and Reducing your artwork will occur to fit the decal/label imprint area unless you indicate art is "exact size".

Screens and halftones are available and can be added for added charge. If you probed art to size with the correct line screen there are no additional charges for screens or halftones.

These items do not represent camera-ready art: Faxes, photocopies, computer laser copies, yellow pages cuts, business cards, and imprinted items such as mugs, hats, napkins, match books, letterhead, etc. However, these items are good references for creating camera-ready artwork.

Our font library consists of thousands of type styles. We provide a reasonable amount of typesetting at no charge. If you do not request a specific type style we will layout your design using the best type style, in the most readable size. Font files are accepted in PC format (.ttf).
